Stats for 10/23:
Cups of water: 2. Not nearly enough.
Midterms bombed: 1. whatever pop culture.
Hours of napping/recovery: 5. Not bad if I do say so myself.
Classes skipped out on early: 1. No excuses, just didn't wanna be there.
Giants World Series Wins: 1!!! YEAH BABY!!

The past two world series games were not my favorite. Sunday's game was without a doubt a good, exciting game, but with a really bad outcome. Yesterday's game.. well.. that was just a big horrible fluke and not even a good game. Today, however, was much better. Not only did the Giants win (never a bad thing) but it was actually a good game. The Giants hit no home runs, and played some pretty solid baseball. It was a good day. In fact, it was just what I needed after a shitty midterm. Thank you Giants.

An hour ago I was fired up to study and do work, recopy notes and make something of my study time. Now I'm just sad. I have a hard time saying that publicly, but an even harder time figuring out why. Maybe it's knowing that I'm not going to get very much sleep the next two nights, or that I have a midterm on wednesday and more reading than I can catch up on. Yeah, it's that. But it's more than that. Maybe it comes out of nostalgia, from being reminded of the way people and things were 5 years, a year, 9 months, 6 weeks, 10 days ago; remembering how things were, seeing how they are, and wondering what happened along the way. Still maybe it's because I'm alone right now and wanting some company--what good is the cry if there is no shoulder?-- or because my roommate is right in the next room and as much as I'd like to talk to him right now, I just don't know how to. Maybe it's because there are so few people I can really talk to for no reason, with no pretense, and no worries or fears or hidden agendas. Or maybe it's just one of those nights.

What's that? Did I hear the Giants are up one game in the World Series? YEAH BABY!! I know it's still way early in the series but I have to say I'm feeling a little better. I was a little uneasy going into this.. I mean hey, it's two wild card teams... ANYTHING is possible at this point.. But this first win at least puts the numbers in our favor right? 60% of teams with the first win win it all, the worst that can happen is the Giants go home with 1-1.. it's lookin good. But I'll stop now before I totally totally jinx everything. We'll just have to wait this one out and see. But how cool was that when JT Snow knocked one out for that 2-run homerun?? And he's cute too! Hopefully that'll keep up.

Mabye it's just me but I totally have impressions of the Giants based on looks alone. Jeff Kent is the total family man sort of guy; Rich Aurilia is the sorta bad boy-esque; Rob Nen is the spitting image of Adam Corolla; Livan is the could-pass-as-a-college-kid baby of them all; David Bell is the every man's nice guy pushover; JT is just the cool guy; Reggie Sanders is the quiet one; and, of course, Benito Santiago.. well he's just Lisa's dad.. MacPainter I like to call him. (I know they keep talking about how old Santiago is but have you seen the guns on him!?! AMAZING! Now that's muscle... Some of the young guys should be so lucky...)

Tonight I go to bed happy with the Giants and with the little characters I seem to have made up for each of them (except Jeff Kent.. what is his problem!?! Is he trying to throw the games?? Cover the spread?? Or just have the worst at-bats in the history of post-season??). Tomorrow I will wake up and hope for another Giant victory to take back home for all those lucky people at next week's games. (PS I'm soooo jealous of Kimi.) And now let me close with a gratuitous "GIANTS BABY!!! WOOOHOOOOO!!!!"

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHIZU!

I've said it many times tonight and I'll say it once more: GIANTS BABY!!!! WORLD SERIES!!! Oh what a glorious day it is that the Giants win at home and move on to the World Series. The last time this happened I was 8 and the whole thing was mucked up by earthquake. Let's hope that doesn't happen again. But oh how exciting it shall be. The games will be good, the outcomes better (that is, the Giants winning) and I will gloat happily to Pat, and try ever so slightly to rub it in the face of that guy in my class who I'm pretty sure thinks I'm a poser. [Aww, ya sad the A's aren't in it?? Even sadder that you're from Sac and don't have a team to call your own?? Awwwawww...] Earlier in the evening as I was watching the game I thought about how this might all be a rant about the third base umpire and how he cost the Giants everything. But I can forgive you Jeff Nelson, you and your bad calls. All was right with the baseball world as Kenny Lofton knocked a shallow one to center and David Bell took off, rounded third, slide his way home, and slide the Giants into the World Series. Ahhhhh.. a sigh and a smile....

That was basically the highlight of the day. I don't know what else there is to say. Can't think of another rhym, to my dismay. Ooh but there I go again, rhymin.. in the hay? Alright I'm dumb. This is long established. Who are we kidding? I know I'm kidding myself if I think it's gonna be easy getting up for class tomorrow. The whole other half of my apartment is sleeping. How is this possible? I'm the one that had early class this morning and then wore myself out running and jumping around the aparment yelling "World Series!!! World Series!!" (No joke. I think the whole building knows I'm a Giants fan.) Anyway, I guess I should go to bed and have visions of World Series champs dance in my head. (Those would of course be visions of the Giants.)

I think by now most, if not all of you know that I have obsessions of the non-designer fragrance variety. And now is no exception. Aside from those few staple people I'm "obsessed" with (don't presume to know who they/you are... you don't!) there are a few new fun things. Let's get acquainted with them, shall we?

1) Mah Jong Solitaire. I can't help myself. It's become some sort of sickness, a habit, and addiction that I have to feed at least twice daily. It's horrible but I love it. The thing about it is that I will likely never beat my high score at it. Try as I might I just can't seem to get past 12 rounds. And the fact that I even made it 12 rounds is a feat in itself, one thatI don't think I can ever do it agian. (Billy, I understand the Mindsweeper 91 second bit.. or whatever it is..) Yet I try, day in and day out until my eyes hurt and I start dreaming MJ tiles. It's quite similar to the Tetris addiction I used to have, come to think of it.

2) "Alias." This one I blame soley on JP. Although I'm not unhappy about it. I've seen a whopping 2 1/2 episodes thus far but I'm pretty hooked. I have to admit, it's a good show. But I think what really gets me is that it has a pretty good soundtrack. Anyone else feel me on this? They seem to play pretty good music to go along with whatever is going on, and not so much of the typical dramatic music that they use in like obsession number..

2.5) "The Practice." (It's only sort of an obsession and not really new so it only gets half a point) I never really watched it regularly but I watched enough to really like it and know about the characters and everything. Since they've been showing iton FX in the mornings and now that the new season started, I'm a little hooked. It's a damn good show. That's all there is to it. Almost makes me wanna be a lawyer.. scary huh?

3) Drinking the 8 recommended cups of water everyday. I've done it once so far. Man did I have to pee that night. 8 cups is both not that much, and a whole frickin lot. It's not that it's terribly hard to consume 8 cups of liquid daily (sorry Tommie), it's just hard to make it all be water when there are things like horchata and cherry coke and Arizona Green Tea with ginseng and honey. Nevertheless, I will try to get my 8 cups daily, just for the sake of it. I will likely fail everyday, but as long as I'm trying.. right? Tonight I think I'm maxing out around 5. It might've been more had a little piece of flower not fallen into my cup. That's nature for ya..

Anyway, in a desperate attempt to get on some sort of normal sleep schedule and not feel like crap when I get up in the wee hours of the morning to go to my favorite class, adding psych 172 with Hildegard, I should go to sleep. I will shut the blog up.

Today wasn't the worst day ever, but it certainly wasn't the best. I won't get into it. But it was thankfully saved by a high score on MJ Solitaire, and more importantly, John Mayer on Letterman. *sigh..* that's some good soul soothin stuff. In fact, I think I need more of it. Time for "fallin asleep to the sound of [sirens]" John Mayer. It's not even the end of week 1 yet and already it feels like I've been in school for a while. Something tells me this is going to be an incredibily long quarter.. grrreat.

First off, Happy Birthday to the Fruit!

Secondly, what's with the weather?? I'm supposed to be in sunny Sandy Eggo but all I got is clouds and weak drizzley rain. It's the "kind of morning that lasts all afternoon, just stuck inside the gloom." Feel me?

Anyway, I'm at school between classes killing time. I feel like my life is spent killing time between things that aren't particularly eventful. I have three more classes today, two of which I'm not in, one of which and I'm probably going to drop, and none of which I particularly want to go to today... might be a quarter life crisis.. Yeah I'm listening too John Mayer while I type away the time. He makes the waiting a little more bareable, and for that I love him.

Speaking of JM, as of yesterday I've had two dreams in which he and I were, or became, buh-frens. Me likey the dreams.. Prophetic perhaps? Possibly. There were other, perhaps bigger, underlying issues within the dream, but whatever.. so what if JM was giving me love advice or a cherished picture with JM was actually a picture with someone else.. *duhn duhn duhn*

Hurrah! I've just managed to sign on to AIM. It wasn't working earlier. It is now. The only problem: no one I want to talk to is on. That I don't particularly like. And I know that the people I do want to talk to who are on are really only "on" and have their little away messages about being in class and cell biology and boys and girls and whatnot. So still I am left alone. *sniffle*

Let's see.. 50 minutes down, only 30 more to go. yay. There is really only so much one can write before all the bad things start to come out... and let me tell you.. now is one of those times. Must.. hold.. tongue.. lest.. cause.. (more) drama... And with that, I think it's time to take to emailing. That's always fun for the whole family!

One minute later.. It worked! I have not been smited once more! Hurrah!

Inspired by Tommie I tried to start this little blogger bit a while back but I was smited, and smited bad. So here I am trying again. There is much to say but I need to go to bed soon because of an unfortunate little thing I like to call class. Thus, this will serve as my test blog. (blogger? I dunno. what's the correct slang terminology??) Should this actually work, I will celebrate slightly with myself and brainstorm future topics. Get excited. Very excited.
