The Princess Fritter: I Love Chewing Gum

A twister! A twister!.. Err..okay, maybe not a twister.. but a big ass storm nonetheless. I forgot what it was like to be in a storm likethis. I forgot what it was like to sit at this computer (at home!! yeeahyeah!) and have the whole room shake so much so that the table and computer are shaking and rain is banging down on the windows. Wait no, I do remember the last time I faced this. It was the night before I left for England to go visit Lisa; I went out with Tommie and Billy; it rained HELLA; Kenton and King stopped by for two seconds; and the rain set off Billy's car alarm three times. Dayam. Alright, so I guess it was more or less a tame year and now here I am faced with storm again. I knew it was bad up here but I didn't know it was this bad. Coming home tonight I saw a fallen tree that stretched all the way across Diamond Heights Blvd, blocking the entire street. The tree was actually so big and fell in such a way that we could have actually driven under it had the poor policeman assigned to safeguard the tree.. er.. the traffic.. let us pass. I'm kind of down for this cuz it is a little bit of fun, it just sort of puts a damper on going out and all the non-water resistant (ie silk) things I wanted to wear over break. But I guess that's what coats and umbrellas are for. Speaking of, I left my umbrella in Chizu's car come 6 weeks ago. I meant to get it out of there today when she dropped me off at the airport. I forgot. Go figure. Oh well, for now I'm toasty warm inside. And for now it's time for my first night sleep back in the little whole that my body has hollowed out in my bed that uncomfortable as it may seem to the unknowing eye somehow lulls me right to sleep.

But before I do, I just want to say that even though I've only been hom a few hours.. man it's good. AND, if you're reading this (which most of you aren't) and you're in the city, and you're so inclined.. LET'S PLAY!

(On an unrelated note. The space bar on this keyboard doesn't seem to be working too well. I'm going to excuse myself right now for any and all related typos.)

I think I'm going to cry. I think I'm actually going to break down and cry. The hyperventilating has begun, the scrunched up face.. it's just a matter of time. Here's why: As of lately I've been a wee bit busy and haven't been able to keep up with my fantasy bf JM.. I know, I'm a bad obsessed gf. Now that finals are over I have time to do whatever I like, and that has meant checking up on my man and my other man via the JM Road Journal, or JMRJ as I now like to call it. So I'm reading, I'm reading.. excited about him being on Carson on dec 20 (everyone watch it).. I'm reading some more.. reading more... WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE PLAYED A SHOW AT SDSU WITH HELLA PEOPLE AND I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT IT!!?!?!?!?!?!?! Oh I am saddened.. oh so saddened. I can't believe I missed him. He was so close.. so close.. how could I not have known? How could I have let him pass me by? He keeps on passin me by.. Oh cruel, cruel world! Why!? Why?? I can't kick myself any harder!!! That would've been the best start to finals EVER had I gotten to see him. AHHH!!! I cannot fully express my regret and misery at having not known and not gone. I weep for my loss..... Maybe shopping therapy??

*WHEW* It's over. The quarter and finals, that is. I feel like this has been one of the longer weeks of my life. That crappy film final that just about put me in tears seems so long ago.. the other two went okay despite some shakey studying.. but more importantly, it's all over! Yay. That, of course, means that it's almost time to go home. I won't write another bit about all the food I want to eat when I go home (that's a given) but I will say that home holds a few interesting prospectives. I'm not exactly sure what there is prospect for, just that it is there. There are definitely some people I'd like to see (and they know it) and others I'd really like to see who might not know [which one are you??]. So I've basically got three weeks to go home, spend lots of money, eat well, and see all the people from home that I don't get to see 75+% of the year. There is quite a bit more that I had intended to blog about but I'm getting just a wee bit tired having gotten up early to study.
Here are a few things from the past few daysthat I thought were worth mentioning:
Wednesday I saw the most awesome thing. This kid was in a full wet suit, wet hair, sandy bare feet, with his surf board on the bus. He was either done with finals or just really needed to relieve his stress and go surf so he dragged his board on the bus all the way down to the beach and back. That's so cool.. Big ups to that guy.
On that same bus ride I decided to stay on the bus as it passed my stop and my apartment and treated myself to a little shopping therapy. I was ready to spend but there was nothing I really wanted. I ended up only buying one thing, but I was so ready to give my credit card to anyone who would have it. Shopping therapy, while effective, seems to lose a bit when you're dead tired. It's just not as rewarding to go shopping when the act itself only makes you more tired and adds on to the 24+ hours that you haven't slept in. Tomorrow I'll be out again, credit card in hand (which incidentally got upped to a $1200 limit which is just evil evil evil for me) looking for more shopping therapy. UTC get ready.
Yesterday I saw three guys riding down the hill on a skateboard. The same skateboard. At the same time. I kid you not. Three guys were standing real close together on a long board going down the not so scary part of Peterson. It was cute. Made me smile. Big ups to those guys too.
Today I saw two little kids running around and one of them just straight up yelling for fun. I wanted to be that kid. I wanted to run around and scream at the top of my lungs (shout out to JM) and let it all out. I know that finals are over and I should be considerably less stressed, but I dunno.. some of you people... you're killing me! Even right now as I write this I'm feeling not in the greatest of all moods ever, although granted I'm exhusted and in desperate need of sleep and my bed is screaming my name. Even still, being done isn't 100% settling. There's still the point at which I'll have to check my grades and undoubtedly be disappointed. There's still the three weeks from now when I have to come back down here and deal with some of those same issues that have been plaguing me for weeks and months. And then of course, with every day, every blog, every unproductive weekend that passes, I'm just that much closer to graduation and not knowing what I'm doing. But that is a whole different blog. For now I will focus on right now, tonight, this weekend. I'm done with finals, I'll be home in two days, and it's almost Christmas. I guess considering all that, life can't be too bad.

I'm gonna go on record as saying I hate almost everything. I don't hate *everything* and I certainly don't hate almost everything all the time.. but right now, I sort of hate almost everything. Clearly, it's finals week. Yes, finals week, although you all know that. You're all taking them too. And since everyone else is in the depths of finals madness as well, I probably shouldn't complain. But when has that ever stopped me? Actually, I'm not really sure what I'm complaining about, it's just a general feeling of this-all-sucks-and-why-can't-finals-be-cookies-and-ice-cream-and-puppies-and-NOT-papers-and-bluebooks-and-in-class-essays-and-scantrons-and-multiple-choice-and-number-two-pencils-and-all-nighters-and-not-sleeping-and-eating-poorly... and everything else that we've come to know and loathe as finals. My finals schedule is actually pretty good this quarter but for whatever reason I'm just not handling things well. I don't know what it is but I need to kick it and I need to kick it quick. (Shopping therapy would help immensely.)

Unrelated, here are somethings I noticed and/or wondered about and/or asked myself about and/or swore at:
ºWhy are Peppridge Farm cookies mostly named after European cities? This was based on my observation of the Holiday Entertaining Collection that I happen to have desk-side. It's all chocolate stuff so I'm not sure if this applies to the fruit ones too, but I don't think it does.
ºWhy does my door not slam!?! So much is lost when the door almost closes quickly but then stops before slamming and then slowly drifts back open.
ºThe boys in my life are ruining it! Seriously, could you stop?
º~325 wrds/page x 12.5 pages = too many words to have written for a crappy in-class final.
ºWhy are the pizza slices so small? And is their thinness detracting from the overall taste and experience of pizza consumption, because this just isn't as good..

Time to work on paper so today can kick my ass harder.

MORE THINGS THAT ARE EVIL In no specific order:
*The term paper that I have to write tomorrow night and that I can't put off any longer.
*The paper that was due today that I didn't do that I'll have to do over the weekend.
*Not being able to get back into work mood and subsequently not doing anything the past three nights.
*Depressing music. Enough said.
*Being a self-imposed biatch.
*AIM.. I won't explain only because there are so many levels of its evilness that I'd literally be here all night writing about the evils that are AIM.
*Minesweeper plateaus
*Finals. Just because.
*Lame shit. (See the yet to be written "Frees-Leese Guide to Life")

(A few) THINGS THAT ARE GOOD:
*Dogs and dog parks
*Matthew McCona-haay! and his tight white pants in U-571
*Watermelon boba
*Sleep, especially when you can do it whenever you feel like it.
*Felicity. What would Felicity do??.. For real though, what *would* she do??
*Deciding to stop being a self-imposed biatch.
*Cornstartch
*RJ Scotty.. Oh how I've missed little RJ. I'm sorry I forgot about you for such a long time. It won't happen again.

I lied. This next post is not from San Francisco. I was having much too much fun at home to spend time blogging. But I'm back now with plenty of "free" time for blogging. About home.. home was great. I wouldn't say that home was really fun, per se, but it was definitely enjoyable. It was nice to see everyone and get to catch up a little bit, hang out, go shopping, hit the b-a-r, and of course eat eat eat. I didn't get a lot of the stuff I wanted but I got some other comparable stuff. Speaking of which, everyone in the SF area should check out Courtney's on Irving between 8th and 9th for a good sandwich, especially hot pastrami... mmm.. hot pastrami.. Chizu's cousin owns it and he hooked it up for us so I feel the need to promote the place endlessly. Plus.. it's super cute. Anyway, so home and food at home was good. Phat Potluck wasn't quite living up to its namesake but was fun all the same. We should do more things like that. All in all the really long weekend was good. Had a few interesting thoughts on grad school and certain people, spent time with the folks and the family, and of course, bought things. Buying things is evil. The "funny" part though was that I wasn't terribly sad about coming back down here until the day I had to come back. That might have something to do with the copious amounts of work I have to do though. It'll be nice to go back in two weeks and not have anything to worry about school and be able to just relax. Anyway, now that I'm back I should maybe try to tackle some of this massive load of work.. woo party. This wasn't a very good blog. Damn. Oh well.
