The next time I post a blog I will be in San Francisco. That calls for some !!!! Yes, in one hour I will be leaving to go to the airport and then I'll be home by sundown. And I can't wait. After 9 weeks of cooking, chain restaurants, and subpar burritos I'm ready to go home and eat. Get ready yall! La Taqueria, Subcenter, Gordos, PPQ, Park Chow, Wonderful Foods.. I want it it all! Money, fast cars, diamond rings, gold chains, burritos, warm ginger cake, Imperial Rolls, lychee tapioca.. mm..
Eating aside I'm tres excited to go home and see everyone, especially at Phat Potluck, Part 5. Get ready yall! I honestly can't remember the last time we were all--or even close to all--in the same room at the same time. Is it even still possible? Or might the universe implode upon itself should such a mad mad thing ever occur again?? We'll just have to wait and see! Get ready yall! (Lisa, when *did* we turn into drag queens??)
Oh! And what's so great about all of this is that I don't have to really worry about that damn paper. No, not because I finished, but because she pushed it back til next friday!!! Yay!!! She's not horrible after all!! That was some sweet sweet news yesterday. What a way to start the break. =o) And now I must spend the last 25 minutes before I leave picking up a bit and making sure I have everything. Yay going home! Get ready yall!

THINGS THAT ARE EVIL AND WHY (In no specific order):

*Cheetos Flammin Hots-- Evil because they have all that flammin hot goodness and are soo addicting but so bad for me, AND gave me a tummy ache. Yet there they sit, calling me.. evil little snacks.
*Minesweeper-- Evil because it is also utterly addicting and time consuming. I've been playing for two weeks and can hardly bare to fathom how many hours have been lost to those damn little mines. On the up side I'm much better at it than I was before. Unfortunately it has gone from Minesweeper to MinDsweeper. The mind has effectively been swept.
*This Blogger-- I'm supposed to be writing a 10 page paper right now but I just can't bring myself to do it. And it's so much easier to put off and be distracted when I can update my blogger. And what's more is that there are about a million and eight things I can think of to write about right now.. none of which are 17th century theater or contemporary film.
*"K"s-- As Kat so eloquently put it, "AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH"
*The Evil One, ____-- Because.
*My Pop Culture Professor-- how you gonna make a paper due the day after Thanksgiving break when no one is even going to be there!? Now I have to turn it in before I leave, which is in 36 hours and counting.
*My Pop Culture Term Paper-- 10 pages, 10 sources, vague prompt. It's kicking my ass RIGHT now.
*My Bed-- Only evil right now because it looks sooo good. Mmmm.. beeeddd....
*Boys-- You're trouble! All of you!
*Lisa-- Only because she is right.. =o(
*RECIPROCITY!-- "what the f, mother?!"

THINGS I THOUGHT TODAY:
"Before my alarm, again!?!"
"Where have all the bunnies gone!? 3 morning runs, 1 bunny. What the hell??... I'm a bunny-lover."
"I am a self-imposed biatch."
"I'm a minesweeperaholic. I'm addicted to minesweeperahol."
"Look at my boobs."
"He touched me!"
"Don't look at my boobs."
"I go for all the wrong guys. ALL the wrong guys. What's my problem?"
"Sleeeepy... Sleep-yi?"
"Don't wanna get up.."
"Maybe I'll start reading about anything and everything just to learn stuff."
"I'll just lie down for a minute..." (2 1/2 hours later...)
"Patoto startch!"
"I love Conan. Can I marry him?"
"This is a crappy blog."

it's 8;30 and i'm in the library trying to type quietly. it's not like there are a lot of people here, just that the keyboard is old and makes a lot of noise. it bothers me a bit. anyway, i got up early to get a ride with billy and pat so i could come here and do some research and read and whatnot. the research is not going well. or, not as well as i had hoped. oh well. i'll make due i suppose.

today i became one of those girls i sort of dislike on principle. the ones who dress up for class. it's a really really nice day today so naturally it was a skirt day. my feet are cut up though so i couldn't wear flip flops. and between the pumas and the luichini heels, i opted for the heels. now i'm overdressed for class, my feet hurt a bit, and i can't walk that fast. legs look better though if i do say somyself. but i'm thinking it's not really worth it. and the reflective glass of geisel is actually making me to start to wonder..

anyway, i'm trying to kill a little time between now and class. i should be reading or whatever but instead i'm just getting tired. i guess that's what i get for waking up at 5:45. how that happened is beyond me. my alarm was set for 6 but i was awake at 5:45 and instead of laying in bed i decided to get up a little early and try on an outfit i was curious about.. (these are the things that getme up in the morning..) the past two days i've been awake before my alarm and made the most of it by giving myself extra time to get ready so that i can do makeup and try on five different pieces of outterwear. the extra time seems to be turning me into a bit of a 'girly' girl, and not too unlike some high maintenance girls i once knew.. something has to change. but i hope it's not the weather.

yesterday was a beautiful day! it was sunny and warm.. i was tres excited. today is looking to be more of the same and so is tomorrow. it's days like these when i can appreciate being in san diego. being smack in the middle of november but in skirts and/or tank tops because the temperature is in the mid 80s. that's pretty good stuff right there.

i have more things to write about. i meant to do it yesterday but i didn't. now might've been the time for that butit's so much easier to just ramble about nothing. later i suppose.. right now it's check out books then go get jamba then go to class early time. yay.

billy, yay on the three-peat.
nicole, hurl if ya gotta.
sleep, why dost thou leave me?

This semester I have two psych clsses with the same professor: Eating Disorders and Human Sexuality. Today I went to both of them, something that hasn't happened in in a little while. Sometimes when I get to the second class, having not gone to the first one, I'll look at her non-descript outfit and think, "I would've known that she was wearing that had I gone to lecture this morning.." Other days, when I go to both classes, by the afternoon I'm already familiar with her ensamble. So I was a little bit surprised when I got to my second class in the late afternoon and had no recollection of the bright pink striped turtleneck she was wearing. It was, to say the least, a shirt I'd remember. I considered the possibility that she put it on some time after 11, which wouldn't be at all surprising. Then I thought back to my morning class and tried to remember what it was that she was wearing, if not the pink turtleneck. And then it hit me: had I looked at my professor at all during her lecture this morning?? Was I that involved in the material in the slides? Was she just out of my view? Or was I so busy staring at a newly discovered cute guy that I failed to look at my professor, notice her bright pink turtleneck, and zone out during some of the lecture?? *Ding ding*.. I think we have a winner. I was so engrossed in staring at some guy whose name I don't know and probably never will while he talked to his girlfriend and paid half-attention to the lecture (the other half to the girlfriend of course) that I failed to notice The Turtleneck.
At the time I knew I was keeping quite an eye on him but I couldn't help myself. He's just so cute. Some might say "dreamy [TM Lisa]" even. And that whole having a girlfriend double-edged sword thing is so true. Seeing him with his sorority girlfriend made me want to scoff at their couplishness, but at the same time made me want to claw him away from her and make him mine so that I could be the other half of his couplishness [hey, a fake word twice in one sentence.. sweet]. I will admit that I thought of how I might make him mine. I didn't get far. I couldn't even come up with a way to find out his name. Before I was able to give it much thought I realized that I need a boyfriend. Okay, I don't *need* a boyfriend, but I wouldn't mind having one. I've mastered being single. I'm done with the singleton days. If anyone wants lessons at it, let me know.. I'm a pro.
It's not just that I've been single since forever. It's that everyone and their mom (ie all my friends) have boyfriends. No lie. And some of them, boyfriends of many years. What do I have? Nothing. (Well, sometimes I feel like I have a child, but that's an entirely different blog.) My friends are practically married, with a pet, and I don't even have the pet. So, I've found a few candidates that I'd like to recruit. There are, of course, the hot boys in my classes whose names I don't know or only know through sheer eavesdropping, whom I will likely never talk to but oh man would I like to please please please. Then there are the other boys whose names I know and who know mine and things about each other etc etc but who just can't seem to get the hint. (Or have gotten the hint and choose to ignore it... Blah blah shuttup.. I know what you're thinking.. and stop. Those days are done.) In addition to these recruits I'm also accepting applications to increase the applicant pool a bit. The minimum first round prerequisits aren't outrageous, so please, encourage people to apply. If we don't get someone good to fill the postion soon it's very likely that I go the rest of the quarter never knowing what my professor is wearing and missing out on such treasures as The Turtlneck.

Wednesday and Thursday night I went to bed early. I'm talking middle school and maybe like freshman year of high school early. And amazingly enough, I *still* overslept and missed class. Go figure. But it was an odd feeling to go to bed that early knowing that there was still much going on else where. Strange, but oddly pleasant in some weird way. I ruined all that last night, however, when I went to bed oh.. this morning. Something like 5:30, if you must know. I will admit that I got a little cuaght up in the MJ solitaire, and then when I started sucking at that I switched to minesweeper so I could suck even more. To my surprise I found that I'm actually starting to get better at that game. I beat the little one a bunch and I can even beat the intermediate one on a very rare occasion. My 183 seconds seems like hours in comparison to some people's 33 seconds and the 28-second world record (don't ask why I know that.. ), but hey, it's a start.
Tonight I don't really know what to do with myself. I'm tired, not feeling all the great, and ridiculously bored. I came too close on too many minesweeper games and had to go back to MJS. Sadly, this is my life.. I need a puzzle.. or a pet.. or a boyfriend. Or I suppose any combination thereof would do just as well... I guess I could have spent some time studying but it just seems oh-so wrong on this three day (that I turned into a four day) weekend.
I think this is becoming one of those boring bloggers that I was warned against, so instead I will turn to emailing. yay. Something better another day.. I promise.
I leave you with one thing: pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis. Think about it. It's real.

Late last night/early this morning, in the delirium of my studying I realized something. Something important. As I lay on the couch, cold of the 5:00 dawn coming through the screen of the open window, I cuddled up to five weeks worth of notes, tucked a friendly down blanket around my legs and realized this: Life would be so much happier, so much more comfortable, if I could only have a blanket with me all the time. Oh how I would like studying at the library if only I could cuddle up with my down throw at my precious 5th floor tables. And how nice would it be to take midterms with a little soft and snuggly.
Seeing a movie at a theater would be far more comfortable with a nice blankie. See something scary:..hide under the blankie! Trying to get close to someone.. share the blankie! Need to shield yourself from a barrage of popcorn and sour patch kids coming from somewhere in the far reaches of the theater.. retreat under the blankie! The blanket has infinite uses. Not to mention that besides the obvious car, plane and train rides, more blankets more of the time could mean a huge increase in comfort and happiness, thereby decreasing stress and stress related complications like ulcers and corinary problems.
As I sit here wrapped in my blanket writing this, I can't help but feel a new found admiration for Schroeder, of Peanuts fame. I know he got made fun of for always having the blue blanket but I really think that kid was onto something. Afterall, he *was* the genius of the 4th grade bunch. I know that I'll likely never put this blanket idea to the test and even if I do it won't be sweeping the nation anytime soon, but it's nice to dream... nice to cuddle up with my warm, soft blanket and dream...

MJ Solitaire new high score! 107,251 in 12 rounds. Beat that Billy! I didn't think I could do it but I beat my score.. I couldn't go more rounds than last time, but I got more points in just as many rounds.. that counts. That was basically the highlight of my day given that I pretty much slept the whole thing away. Not kidding, went to sleep when it was light out, got up when it was dark.. oops. Just one of those days I guess...

This weekend was supposed to be spent studying. Can't say I've done much of that yet. It's just so hard to do when no one else is. It's the easiest thing in the world to stay up when other people do, it's even not that hard to study when other people are... but to study when no one else is and there is much puzzle to be done.... it's like trying to get a cat not to lick itself.. impossible!

Speaking of cats.. I was offered a kitten earlier today. 6 weeks old, just the way I like them. I really really want a kitten but I'm hesitant. Here are the issues: Bringing it back up and down over winterbreak; cost of spaying, vaccinations, flea medication; cost of food and litter; my mom doesn't want me to; my aptmate doesn't want me to. Other than that I really really want a pet to have as my own and keep me company on those cold lonely nights and on the long nights of studying. And it would serve as a nice little therapist. It'd be a therapet, if you will. (the rapet?) So those are the factors I'm considering. I have yet to be swayed either way so please, get your votes in.

Hmm.. 3:15 am. Only slightly tired--not surprising after today's pm wake up call. Is it time for bed or just time to kill this blog? Maybe both? Oh right, one last thing.. I know no one reads this, but I sometimes forget that it's at least *possible* for people to read this, and thus I must sometimes hold my tongue. Remind me of that, lest very bad things happen. Sort of like the movie.

Today's quote:
"I'm over him... He's not socially mature enough yet." CS

An informal survey showed that 50% of the people polled don't read my blogger (Billy), where as the other 50% want me to update more (JP). So for that latter half, here I go..

I had really hoped that I'd be able to write a nice long 'blog' about how the Giants won the world series and norcal was vindicated from that whole Lakers/Kings debacle and I could gloat gloat gloat to the boys behind me in pop culture, and one of the boys across the living room. Sadly, it's nearly a week later and I'm only now able to write about it without immense sadness. But as someone who probably doesn't read my blogger said, "To be a Giants fan is to live with perpetual hope and constant disappointment." I hate to say it but he's not that far off the mark. Although no. Because constant disappointment would've meant some bitter loss to the Cardinals. Granted that instead we faced a bitter, bitter loss to the Angels in a disappointing game 7 that never should've happened if not for that disasterous game 6, but at least we made it that far dammit. And! It wasn't a sweep. There's nothing quite as humiliating as making it to a championship series and getting swept big time.... hmm.. like the last time the Giants were in the World Series.. sadly. But I'm slowly coming to terms with it all. The daily reminders in my classes are subsiding, attention around here has turned to football and the Chargers (they're doing well.. I guess that never happens or something..), and midterms and other general (and specific) type stressors have been slightly more all-encompassing as of late. When I have to I turn to my fellow Giants fans and sports columnists for support. It's a painful greiving process, but life goes on.

Speaking of which.. That saying "There's no use crying over spilled milk" and the whole view of not being sad about things that already happened and you can't change... I'd like to disagree for the block. The basic premise is that you shouldn't be sad over things that you can't do anything about and that you just accept them and move on and that's life, c'est la vie, blah blah. Here's the problem I have with that.. isn't it more reasonable that I be sad about the things that I can't do anything about and have some sort of grieving/healing process, and then with the things I can do something about actually go out and do them instead of sitting on my ass and crying about them, which that whole philosphy seems to imply is the proper time to cry about milk or whatever. Because let's face it, you gotta cry about something sometime. Wouldn't I best served to cry when all else has failed and there is no hope and I need an emotional release, as opposed to crying in the middle of something and wasting all that energy crying when I could be doing something to rectify the situation? I'm thinking yes. But hey, that's just me.

There is more to be said. There is always more. Have you met me? When do I ever shut up? But I will save that for later when that 50% of my faithful readers (JP) demand that I update. For now, I leave you with this:

"'Etymology,' is that words or bugs?" --LM.
